VPSC to return to Vietnam with National Police Football Team

'Building friendships through football'

As a direct result of the success of the recent VPSC Goodwill Tour of Vietnam and Cambodia the VPSC has received an invitation to particiate in the A.S.E.A.N. Exim Bank Cup 2012.

This invitation was for an Australian National Police Team.  The VPSC was able to select a representative team from Victoria, South Australia and the AFP (Canberra/Melbourne), who have now formed the first National Australian Police Football Team to represent Australian law enforcement agencies in this quality tournament.

The program has been received with six nations attending to compete.  Those nations being Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore, Laos, Thailand and Australia.  The competition will be stiff with many of these countries having full time Police Football Teams.

Looking at the map provided in the official program that details the participating countries, there is no doubt that the host nation has been keeping a keen eye on Australian Football and know where we are at!

The touring party are on a hectic training schedule,  preparing for the two week competition commencing on 19th August, 2012.

The trip will also see the touring party revisiting some of the charities that were a focus of the earlier Goodwill Tour.  The team will be fund raising for these organisations prior to leaving.

If you would like to revisit the previous trip please and the supported charities please view the following blog;

Please stay posted and follow the tour.

We are due to depart on 17th August but there will be plenty of activity prior to the departure.
